Doctor of Optometry
Dr. Porter was born and raised in Indiana and lived most of her childhood on a farm with cattle and horses, in the out skirts of Bloomington. Growing up there, she couldn’t help but be a huge IU fan and a fond supporter of Bobby Knight. Her mother worked for the university, so they had season tickets to basketball and football games. She loves sports as a player and spectator, and her biggest crush now is the NFL and playing the fantasy. Like everyone, she had to endure many hurdles in her life, losing a brother in a tragic car accident when eleven, and also losing her Dad to Cancer in 1986. Both losses changed her life in that nothing lasts forever. Dr. Porter chose Indiana University because of her love for Bloomington and the campus. In 1984, she graduated with a Bachelors in Nursing. She did not enjoy this career choice, so returned to school searching for her calling. Many credit hours later, graduating from Optometry school in 1993 has been her true calling and is a career that she enjoys. Dr. Porter "I love my work, my employees and my patients. I believe I’m living the life I was directed to live." Her favorite hobbies are swimming, boating and camping with family and friends. In 2011, she was diagnosed with breast Cancer. What a crazy ride for survival, but she's currently Cancer free and feels blessed that she has so many wonderful people who supported, prayed and cared for her. Her Journey continues……
Office Manager
I've been the office manager since the beginning. I helped open the business that we opened in February 2008. My duties consist of filing insurance, helping patients pick out frames, order frames from venders, as well as the lab. I pretty much overlook everyone and make sure they're doing their jobs correct. In my spare time I love to play softball, landscaping, sewing, and of course spend time with my new little one. -Sandra
Billing Coordinator
After many years in accounting and tax functions on the north side of Indy, I transitioned to the healthcare field to stay in the Mooresville area. I earned a Medical Billing and Coding Certificate from Purdue University Global in May 2021 and joined the practice in July 2021. As a long-time patient of the practice, I know how important it is to maintain your vision and eye health. I will ensure your insurance is billed correctly so you get the best care possible.
Optical Technician
I have 30+ years of experience in the optical field. I began my optical education in Germany as an apprentice with Raeder Optik. I continued to take classes and learned optics while working here in the US. I have been American Board of Opticianry certified and I keep up on the latest lens and frame technology. I enjoy helping my patients find the right fit for their style and vision needs.
